How to create Dual boot XP Pro and Linux
Can I use the upgrade version of XP Pro to install XP on another partition and make a dual-boot system. . . or do I need to buy the full version of XP? I was 99% sure that you could, and what I've read in this newsgroup appears to agree, but our MIS group insists that we need to cough up the $ for the full version.

Dual booting Vista Ultimate 64 bit with XP Pro
I'm dual booting XP Pro on HD1 and Windows Server 2003 on HD2. I recently had to do a clean reinstall of XP and now I can no longer dual boot into Windows Server 2003. The OS is still on the second HD but I have no way to boot to it. I prefer not to do a reinstall if there is a way around this problem.

Secondary IDE 2 Master is a LG GSA-4040B DVD-RAM with NO slave. My WinXP Pro is on Primary IDE 3 & 4 as a RAID array. Now, this mobo has IDE 3 & 4 as ATA133/RAID capable.

I installed XP Pro over W2000 Pro and didn't see an option about setting up any dual boot situation. In fact, my W2000 was running in an endless CHKDSK loop (and still is) which is why I decided to try finally installing my XP. I have had XP Pro installed for a while. I used DISKPART, LIST VOLUME and SHRINK in the Vista Home Premium install process to create a Vista partition and keep XP Pro in a dual boot system. The Vista installation went fine and re-booted a couple of times, giving me the boot option screen foe Vista or an older OS.
